ABSTRACT

As of 2019, COVID-19 is the most difficult issue that we are facing. Till now, it has reached over 30 million deaths. Since SARS-CoV-2 is the new virus, it took time to investigate and examine the influence of Coronavirus in human. After analyzing the spreading and infection of COVID-19, researchers applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to detect COVID-19 quickly to balance the rapid spreading of the virus. Image segmentation is a critical first step in clinical implementations, is a vital role in computer - aided diagnosis that relies heavily on image recognition. Image segmentation is used in medical MRI research to determine the proportions of different anatomical areas of the tissue, as well as how they change as the disease progresses. CT scans are often used to aid with diagnoses. Computer-assisted therapy (CAD) using AI is a particularly significant research area in intelligent healthcare. This paper presents the detection of COVID-19 at an early stage using autoencoders algorithm and Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) using deep learning approach with more accurate results. The images of Chest Radiograph (CRG) and Chest Computed Tomography (CCT) are used as a trained dataset to detect since SARS-CoV-2 first affect the respiratory system in humans. We achieved a ratio of 1.0, 0.99, and 0.96, the combined dataset was randomly divided into the train, validation, and test sets. Although the early detection of Coronavirus is still a question since the accuracy of the deep learning approach is still under research. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

The novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pandemic’s global regulatory authorities are issuing provisional market authorization to current public health for timely detection of COVID-19 infections based on the analytical performance data, limited clinical performance data, and manufacturers’ declarations. Importers, local manufacturers, government procurement agencies, and other stakeholders should be made aware of the regulatory process for market authorization of COVID-19 in vitro diagnostic (IVD) kits in India. The objective is to study in detail about COVID-19 IVD guidelines. Concentrating on the recent updates in COVID-19 IVD guidelines, we analyze the necessity for India to become efficient in manufacturing SARS-CoV-2 IVDs. In India, Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) coordination with The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is committed to ensuring the rapid availability of diagnostic tests for COVID-19. To address the urgent need for timely detection of COVID-19 infection, it is important to scale-up the testing capacity to maximum possible levels according to the CDSCO interim licensing process. This has helped to timely expand the variety of quality diagnostic tests available in India. The regulatory tools described in this article are made based on a comparison of data available on the procedure, followed by other major countries under the health emergency without compromising on the quality of the product within the existing provisions given in the Drugs and Cosmetic Act and Medical Devices Rules 2017. © 2022

ABSTRACT

The present article provides a brief review on sources of health disparities, pandemic risks and burdens, various impact factors (such as political disruptions, state-centre imbalance, lack of trained health professionals) hindering policy-making on pandem-ics. Further, factors responsible for outbreak mismanagement with strategies for effective preparedness is focused. It also highlights the age-old colonial law, so-called the backbone of Indian healthcare policy in strategizing healthcare emergencies. The gaps in the present policy indicate an immediate requirement for an overarching law that governs public health care. The review also envisages the safety and security measures taken by the Indian government against COVID-19, prioritising health over the economy. Finally, flagship changes required in national healthcare policy to prepare the country to fight against any upcoming pandemic outbreaks are suggested. © 2020, Radiance Research Academy.
